Royal Profile: Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg

Princess Alexandra Joséphine Teresa Charlotte Marie Wilhelmine of Luxembourg was born 16 February 1991 as the fourth child and only daughter of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Luxembourg (who were then the Hereditary Grand Ducal Couple) {Source}. Princess Alexandra has three older brothers and one younger as well as two sisters-in-law,  a former sister-in-law, three nephews and a niece{Source}:

She has received several orders in Luxembourg, including the Order of the "Lion d'Or" of the House of Nassau{Source}. She also received the Grand Cross of the Order of Adolphe of Nassau {Source}.

She attended her primary education years in Luxembourg, attended Angelsburg and then the Lycée Vauban where she completed her secondary education, obtaining her Baccalaureate in Arts and Literature (with honors) in 2009{Source}. She then began attending university abroad, studying Psychology and social sciences in the United States and France, earning a bachelor's degree in philosophy with a specific concentration in ethics and anthropology{Source}.  In 2017, she received a masters degree in Interfaith Studies with a concentration in Conflict Resolution from the Irish School of Ecumenics at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland {Source}


The only daughter of the Grand Ducal Couple speaks several languages fluently including Luxembourgish, French, English and Spanish, as well as having knowledge of German and Italian{Source}.

Whenever she is not attending to her academic career abroad, she participates in numerous activities in Luxembourg, including Luxembourg's National Day ceremonies, and the end of the Octave Celebration of Our Lady of Luxembourg{Source}.  In 2017, she went on her first official trip abroad with her father to Japan {Source}. She also serves as godmother to her nephew, Prince Gabriel, and her niece, Princess Amalia.

In her spare time, she is an avid sportswoman. She enjoys tennis, alpine skiing, and water skiing{Source}. She also enjoys reading {Source}.
